It seems so fun and innocent when you say it. It’s even kind of a cute word. Until you actually start blogging, then it can seem anything but cute. It can seem more like the boogeyman. A hobby that brings you as much pleasure as it does pain.
So just what is blogging to YOU?
A side hobby that is meant to serve as a creative outlet for yourself and possibly benefit some of your friends? A way to make money? Or maybe it’s just meant to serve as a ministry, but whatever it is meant to be, one thing is for sure–it is easy for a blogger to get discouraged. And burnt out. Before their true potential is reached. Before their gifts have ever been used.
Have you been there?
Yet what a disgrace and a disservice this process can be for all those that YOU (the blogger) has the potential to reach.
So today, I am sharing my favorite prayer for bloggers seeking to do something more, but are unsure exactly of where God is leading them.
Please share with any bloggers you think might benefit. 💕
Thank you for giving me a passion for writing. Thank you for giving me the passion of (insert whatever it is that your blog is about.) I trust and believe this passion is God-given and something that can be used to further your Kingdom even if seems unusual.
Lord, I ask that if this passion is not from you or is not of your leading that you remove it from my heart. I pray that you wipe the desire away. And focus me on where YOU want me with peace and no heartache.
But Lord, I ask that if this passion is from you, that you take my passion and create something with it that is far greater than what I could ever imagine. But greater in what your eyes deem great and not what I do.
Let me not let fear withhold me from pursuing my full potential that can only be found by trusting YOU.
Lord, I ask that I not define success through the eyes of this world, but instead through the lens of you. Remind me that success in your eyes comes from chasing after YOU and letting you do YOUR work in me versus me chasing after dreams that are contrived from my own wants and self-directed ambition.
Let me not be focused solely on growing numbers, which is so easy to do. But instead let me be focused on individuals–reaching one heart at a time in need of whatever service it is I have to offer.
I ask that you take the amount of time I have to offer whether a little or a lot, and use it for what you can. Direct my focus and writing in those times so that I can be productive with what I have to give.
Lastly, Lord, I offer myself to you. All of me.
Weed out the parts of me that need to go away. Grow the parts of me that keep me connected to your spirit. Ignite my words. Redirect my focus to serving you and nothing else.
And let me never forget that in your eyes being first in line is never the goal. Instead, you teach us there is benefit to being at the back of the line.
Therefore, give me patience to put others first and to cheer on others’ successes knowing that if and when you are ready to use me, I cannot stop you.
In the Name of Jesus,
I pray this prayer can bless you each and every day you need it.
May the Lord shower his presence of love all over you today!
